UFC president Dana White spends jaw-dropping amount on shoes despite not shopping in ten years

Dana White hasn’t been shopping for ten years, but he still manages to spend an exorbitant amount of money on shoes.

The UFC president is an avid sneaker collector who, with the help of a personal shopper, managed to buy £79,000 [$100,000] worth of new trainers last year.

"Yeah, I have a personal shopper that literally buys everything,” White told Complex.

"I mean, I haven't been to a mall in probably ten years. I don't do any of that stuff.

"I don't shop online, I have a personal shopper who literally buys everything for me, everything. Socks, shoes, underwear, T-shirts, jeans - you name it."

"Last year I spent over $100,000 just on shoes."

The UFC boss is a big fan of Travis Scott's Nike Air Jordans line and owns several pairs that are yet to be worn - some he never will wear because they are collectables.

“I have sort of my day-in and day-out shoes and they're mostly Travis Scott's that I wear,” White added.

"But I will say this, this summer I definitely will wear some of these shoes this summer."

Annoyingly, White was not allowed to wear his favourite sneakers for almost a decade due to a sponsorship deal between his MMA promotion and Reebok.

"We had a Reebok deal, early on with the UFC we had a seven-year deal and you couldn't touch Nike when we were with Reebok,” he explained.

"But Adidas owned Reebok and I'm a big Adidas fan, too. So, everything I wore was Adidas."

Despite being one of the most famous people in sport, the 53-year-old insists he never uses his celebrity status to get freebies and that’s why his yearly shoe bill is so high.

"Nobody's hooking me up. Yeah, there's no hookups here,” White concluded.

"Listen, I'm one of these guys, I don't call around looking for free s***, I pay for everything.

"Unless it was a gift that somebody sent to me, I pay for everything I have."

White is currently in Las Vegas ahead of UFC 290, which will be headlined by a featherweight unification fight between long-time champion, Alexander Volkanovski, and interim titleholder, Yair Rodriguez.

Perhaps, he’ll whip out a pair of his best trainers for the big occasion.
